BMW i and TED Work Together to Implement Innovative Ideas

BMW i and TED are joining forces on a new contest to find visionaries from around the world who have powerful new ideas about mobility and the future of personal transport. The NextVisionaries competition will announce the winners at the Frankfurt Motor Show and also at TED’s New York theater in November. The winners will discuss their ideas at both locations.

Throughout the next four months, according to a press release from BMW, a group of mentors will choose the most impressive, promising and groundbreaking proposals. Applications can be submitted at www.nextvisionaries.com.

BMW i Ventures already assists carefully chosen initiatives and start-ups to grow and implement groundbreaking new ideas. NextVisionaries is going one-step further and giving its winners a stage to enable the free exchange of ideas.

Lisa Choi Owens, Head of Global Partnerships at TED, agreed: “TED Talks give the most creative minds and their most fascinating ideas a way to reach curious audiences around the world. The collaboration with BMW i gives us the chance to unearth some of the most exciting new thinking in the field of mobility.”
