What's New for the 2022 BMW 4 Series?

Are your eyes focused on the BMW 4 Series? This luxury car is offered in both coupe and convertible body styles in its second generation in 2021. While the 2022 4 Series continues to have a modern appeal, it carries a few exciting updates that you should learn about before picking out your next car from Global Imports BMW.

The available drivetrains in select 4 Series versions have been revamped. The 4 Series convertible, for example, is now equipped with an optional all-wheel drive. The 4 Series M440i Coupe is now offered with rear-wheel drive. The two engine systems offered in 2021 continue to be included in the 2022 4 Series. The base trim level receives 255 horsepower from a turbo 2.0-liter, four-cylinder engine. The top trim level draws 382 horsepower from a turbo 3.0-liter V6 engine. An eight-speed auto transmission is standard with both powertrain systems.

Inside the cabin, the 4 Series has a few changes as well. The wired smartphone app connectivity standard for 2021 becomes wireless for 2022. In addition, there are a few other minor shifts in standard and available features between 2021 and 2022. The 2022 4 Series’ base trim is offered with simulated leather, a tri-zone auto climate control system, natural voice recognition, two 8.8-inch display screens, a navigation system, and a sunroof in the coupe body style. Features available optionally or in higher trim levels include leather upholstery, remote engine start, a Harman Kardon sound system, adaptive cruise control, and a few other features.

The exterior design of the 4 Series holds steady for 2022. From the front view, you will notice a cascading hood that reaches toward a narrow yet tall grille. This grille is tied to double-scooped LED headlights and tall air portals. Across the sides, you will find a muscular definition around the rear fender and deep accentuation through the door panels.
