2019 BMW 3 Series

Automakers are stepping up their game, and it is becoming harder to pick a car with all of the great models out there. That’s why it is always best to narrow down your choices between cars from the top brands. Today, we’re going to compare the 2019 BMW 3 Series, 2019 BMW X2, 2019 BMW X3 and BMW 4 Series to the 2019 Honda Accord.

When you buy a new vehicle, you want peace of mind and a plan to help you keep your vehicle running like new. BMW offers this with BMW Ultimate Care and a 4-year/50,000-mile New Vehicle Limited Warranty, 12-year Unlimited Mileage Rust Perforation Limited Warranty, and a 4-year Unlimited Mileage Roadside Assistance Program. Honda’s New Vehicle Limited Warranty only covers you for 3 years or 36,000 miles, whichever comes first, and their Rust Perforation Limited Warranty is only good for 5 years of coverage.

Performance

In terms of performance, BMW offers a number of sporty cars and SUVs that drive smoothly, offer athletic performance, and feature excellent handling. For example, the 2019 BMW X2 is a luxury SUV that runs on a 228-hp turbocharged 2.0-liter inline-four engine. It can go from 0 to 60 mph in 6.3 seconds. The 2019 BMW X3 is also a luxury SUV, and it pumps out 248 horsepower, which allows it to reach 60 mph from a stop in 6 seconds. A higher-performance version of the X3 offers 355 horsepower. The 2019 BMW 4 Series is a luxury coupe that also produces 248 horsepower and achieves a 0-to-60 time of 5.5 seconds. A higher-performance version of the 4 Series offers 320 horsepower. The 2019 BMW 3 Series sedan is all new for 2019, and its 2.0-liter turbocharged engine creates 255 horsepower allowing it to hit 60 mph in 5.6 seconds.

The 2019 Honda Accord offers decent performance, but its base 1.5-liter turbocharged engine can only produce 192 horsepower. A more powerful 2.0-liter turbocharged engine is available on the Accord Sport trim and standard on the Accord Touring trim. This larger engine pumps out 252 horsepower, but dramatically increases the price of the Accord over the base engine. Additionally, the 2019 Honda Accord comes with a CVT transmission, which does its best to mimic the real feel of a normal, automatic transmission. However, real drivers will prefer the sporty, quick-shifting 8-speed automatic transmission found in BMW’s lineup.

Interior Features

The interior features on BMW vehicles are known for being well-placed and easy to use. The 2019 BMW X2 and 2019 BMW X3 both feature a 6.5-inch central display while the 2019 BMW 3 Series and 2019 BMW 4 Series both feature a 8.8-inch center screen. These vehicles also come with BMW’s handy iDrive control system which allows you to easily navigate the built-in screen even when you are behind the wheel.

The 2019 Honda Accord offers some great features - such as heads-up display and satellite-linked navigation - but only on the top Touring trim. Honda is known for limiting the availability of some of the most desirable features to their highest trim levels - instead of making them standard or optional.

Value

If you really are looking for a car that is worth every dollar you spend on it, then you are best left with the 2019 BMW 3 Series. For a starting price of $40,250, you can get what is considered as the gold standard for an athletic, luxury sedan. It has amazing built-in interior features and smooth performance to boot. The 2019 Honda Accord comes up short as it lacks definitive interior features that help improve the overall driving experience, and it has been designed with efficiency in mind at the sacrifice of performance.
