2020 BMW X6 vs 2020 BMW X7

Serving Atlanta, GA

The X6 and the X7 sit next to each other in BMW's SUV line. The X6 was introduced as a midsize luxury crossover SUV with a coupe body style in 2008. For 2020, the X6 steps confidently into its third generation with desirable improvements from end to end. The X7 is a full-size luxury SUV that was introduced last year as BMW's flagship model. While they are close siblings, they are stunningly different and will appeal to different drivers.

Performance

The impressive BMW X6 for 2020 is available with one powertrain in the core models. This is a twin-power turbo V6, 3.0-liter engine that delivers 335 horsepower behind the wheel. It is offered with rear-wheel drive or intelligent all-wheel drive with xDrive technology. The 2020 BMW X7 is available with a unique powertrain in each of its core models. One of these is the same V6 engine that is the X6 model. The other powertrain available for the 2020 X7 is a 4.4-liter, twin-power turbo V8 engine that offers 456 horsepower. Both of the X7 core models are equipped with xDrive and intelligent all-wheel drive.

Appearance

These premium BMW vehicles command the road, but they deliver elite style in unique ways. The 2020 X6 is a coupe crossover SUV with substantial ground clearance paired with a thick front end and a sleek, low-profile roof. The bow-style grille, lower front fascia, lower-rear fascia, and lower side panels have metallic accents for added personality. The LED headlights show off an angled light bar that runs on top of dual lamps. Power vents are mounted near the front fenders and on both sides of the rear bumper. In comparison, the 2020 BMW X7 is a much larger vehicle with a regal profile. The X7 has the same style of grille, but it is taller and wider. The headlights have a comparable design as well, but they are stretched dramatically. Like the X6, the X7 has metallic accents around most of its lower perimeter. Rather than having an air vent near the front fender, however, the lower metallic piece turns upward to highlight the fender's shape.

Features

The 2020 BMW X6 is a two-row SUV with premium leather material and glass accents. It boasts a digital display screen with advanced navigation features accessible via the instrumentation panel. A second digital display screen sits in the center of the dashboard over the air vents. Inside the X6, you can take advantage of equipment like heated seats, memory functions, smart device integration, a multi-zone climate management system, a power sunroof, 64-color ambient lighting, and other equipment. The BMW X7 is a three-row SUV with many of the same features as the X6, and it adds a few extras. The center stack has the same equipment, but this stack protrudes outward from the dashboard to change the look of the cabin. Additional features include a panorama sky lounge with LED lighting, Live Cockpit Professional, heated seats in the rear rows, massaging front seats, an iDrive controller, and other equipment.
