Performance

The 3 Series and the 5 Series are both available with several gas-powered engines as well as a few hybrid-based engines. Notably, their base engine is the same four-cylinder, TwinPower Turbo 2.0-liter gas engine. In the 3 Series, this engine produces 255 horsepower. The output is 248 in the 5 Series. The top gas-powered engine in the 3 Series is an I-6 powertrain that delivers 382 horsepower. On the other hand, the most powerful gas engine in the 5 Series is a 523-horsepower, V8 engine.

Appearance

Throughout the exterior, the 3 Series and 5 Series are comparable in many areas. However, the 5 Series is a slightly larger vehicle with lower-side air vents near the front fenders and stronger personality lines running through the side panels. Both of these executive sedans have a comparable grille with two connecting sections. The grilles are integrated with elongated headlights featuring a double design element. In the 3 Series, the headlight design has rounded scoops. The design in the 5 Series has sharp angles.

Features

In the 3 Series, Sensatec upholstery covers the seats. This model also has a Hi-Fi sound system and 14-way power seats. These are replaced with Dakota leather, a Harman Kardon sound system, and 20-way power seats in the 5 Series. Both of these models have Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Connected Drive, SiriusXM, and other equipment.
