Serving Atlanta, GA
Whether upgrading to your next BMW or your first one, you will not be disappointed by its supreme luxury and refined engineering. Several premium sedans are offered in the 2023 lineup, including the 3 Series and the 5 Series. While the small 3 Series and the midsize 5 Series have a few shared traits, an in-depth review of their traits can help you to make a selection that you can enjoy for years to come.
Performance
The 2023 3 Series has one plug-in hybrid system and two gas engines. The two gas engines include a turbocharged four-cylinder, 255-horsepower unit, and a turbo six-cylinder, mild-hybrid alternative that produces 382 horsepower. The turbo four-cylinder, plug-in powertrains offer 288 combined horsepower. All have a rear-wheel drive layout with available xDrive all-wheel drive. For the 5 Series, the two gas powertrains are a turbo four-cylinder, 248 horsepower system, and a turbo V8, 523 horsepower alternative. The 5 Series has two PHEV trim levels that benefit from 288 combined horsepower.
Appearance
The smaller 3 Series expresses sophistication through its long, rolling profile and exquisite angled sculpting on the side doors. On the front of the 3 Series, the kidney-shaped grille is short and wide and sits over a more extensive fascia. This fascia bends outward to connect with deep, L-shaped air intakes. The premium headlights have a pair of curved LED light bars. The 5 Series has a stronger, aerodynamic profile with horizontal accents on the sides. The grille has the same shape, but it is accented with chrome. The lower fascia is shorter and flows into large, geometric air intakes. The headlights on the 5 Series are larger and more horizontal. They also have a double LED light bar design, but these bars are angled.
Features
You can appreciate a great selection of pampering features in both of these BMWs. They both are offered with leather and wood materials, a power sunroof, a three-zone climate control system, a curved 12.3-inch display for the driver’s gauges and the MBUX infotainment system, a 10-speaker sound system or better, forward collision mitigation, wireless smart device connections, heated seats, parking sensors, a head-up display and more. Some features offered exclusively in the 5 Series are parking assistance, a drive recorder, a 360-degree camera, massaging front seats, and other high-end features.
