Serving Atlanta, GA
At Global Imports BMW, crossover SUV shoppers often ask about the most recent updates to the popular X5. This midsize crossover's longstanding popularity can be attributed to BMW's consistent focus on improving it over the years. When you check out the most recent model years, you will see that BMW has made thoughtful changes to the X5 that could sway your selection. Before making your next purchase, what should you know about the 2022 and 2023 BMW X5 crossovers?
Performance
Both the 2022 and 2023 X5 crossovers are offered with three powertrains across their four trims, and these systems are unchanged. A turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 gas engine produces 335 horsepower in the lower two trims. This engine is associated with all-wheel drive and an automatic eight-speed transmission. The plug-in hybrid X5 xDrive45e pairs a turbo V6 engine with two electric motors to generate 389 combined horsepower. At the top of the trim line, the M50i trim has a 523 horsepower, turbo V8, and 4.4-liter engine. This trim also is outfitted with a sport-tuned adaptive suspension system, a sport exhaust system, and all-wheel drive.
Appearance
The 2022 and 2023 X5 are identical throughout their exteriors. Their design has a sporty element thanks to the long, angled contours and accents down the sides and the tapered hood. The sides also show off molded rear fenders and an air vent near the front fender. The kidney-shaped grille is rounded, and metal-accented air vents accompany it. The premium headlights have an upper LED ribbon and a pair of circular bulbs. Available equipment for some trims includes auto high beams, a panoramic sunroof, LED lighting for a glass roof, and 20-inch wheels.
Features
There are a few critical changes to the availability of features in the 2023 X5. These changes include the deletion of gesture control and the addition of a wireless device charging pad. For 2022 and 2023, the X5's base trim has parking sensors, a blind-spot warning, simulated leather material, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, a 10-speaker sound system, and a 12.3-inch display screen. The higher trims may be available with automated parking, emergency stop assist, a surround-view camera, a Harman Kardon sound system, and heated and massaging front seats.
