Performance
In terms of performance, the 2023 BMW X5 comes equipped with a 335-horsepower, turbo 3.0-liter, six-cylinder gas engine, complete with an eight-speed auto transmission and adaptive suspension dampers. Additionally, two other engine options are available: a V8 turbo 4.4-liter, 523-horsepower system and a plug-in hybrid system that produces a total of 389 horsepower. For 2024, both gas engines have been updated with mild-hybrid technology. The six-cylinder engine now produces 375 horsepower, while the V8 engine's horsepower remains the same. The plug-in hybrid system has also been retooled, now offering a combined 483 horsepower.
Appearance
When it comes to appearance, the 2024 X5 boasts some significant updates. The 2023 model features strong, angled accents throughout the hood and sides, with curved elements in the LED-topped headlights and a bent accent bar in the front air vents. In contrast, the 2024 X5 sports smooth, linear undulations on the sides and light molding, along with a completely restyled front featuring two arrow-shaped LED bars in the headlights and a pair of tall gills below them. Additionally, the lower fascia now has a three-sided accent bar for additional differentiation.
Features
The 2024 X5 also introduces several new features, including hands-free highway driving assistance, iDrive eight infotainment technology, and a curved central display screen. However, both model years share many features, such as leather upholstery, a Harman Kardon audio system, massaging and heated front seats, automated parking, emergency stop assist, a surround-view camera, a four-zone climate control system, rear window shades, embedded lights in the panoramic sunroof, a wireless internet hotspot, a wireless charging pad, remote engine start, an optional third row of seats, a head-up display, and much more.
