Everyone knows that we've discussed the BMW i3 here on our blog in the past, but today, we're going to celebrate flashback Friday, we're going to tell you about the first time BMW made an electric car, and it was 40 years ago.

That's right, 40 years. Back in 1972, the automaker experimented with electric vehicle technology on the concept called the 1602e. In the video, we see the concept, and learn more about the measures BMW took to explore electric vehicle technology all the way back then. It is interesting because some of those things they learned then have been applied to modern times, with the BMW i3, and we can only hope that a future of more electric vehicles awaits down the road.

It's interesting to watch and here at Global Imports BMW, in Atlanta, GA we'd be happy to discuss BMW technology with you and answer any questions you might have.
