Yesterday, BMW issued a press release announcing the planned North American introduction of two all-new 7 Series models at the 2016 New York International Auto Show towards the end of march. As the company celebrates its 100 year anniversary, BMW will debut the M760i xDrive and the Alpina B7 xDrive.
The M760i xDrive combines a powerful 12-cylinder engine with M Performance TwinPower Turbo technology. With 600 horsepower and 590 pound-feet of torque, the full-size M760i is capable of accelerating from zero to 60 mph in 3.91 seconds and delivers a top speed of 155 mph. Advanced driving assist technologies include Lane Departure Warning, Daytime Pedestrian Protection, Blind Spot Detection, and Active Lane Keeping Assistant. The ultimate combination of comfort and performance, the M760i xDrive goes on sale in the U.S. in early 2017.
Equipped with ALPINA calibrated advanced suspension and chassis technology, the ALPINA B7 xDrive delivers precise handling and driving dynamics. The 4.4-liter eight-cylinder engine outputs 600 horsepower and 590 pound-feet of torque, and accelerates the B7 from zero to 60 mph in just 3.6 seconds. Elegant yet sporty, the ALPINA B7 xDrive rolls into U.S. showrooms in September 2016.
The 2016 New York International Auto Show begins March 23, at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center in Manhattan.
